Going Digital

As you are all probably aware, the Internet kind of took off in a big way during the late 1990s. As we've mentioned before, we had been taking part in chats and message boards on services like AOL and Prodigy. We never really thought, though, about actually being a content provider. We had no idea what was involved in making a website or in making things like photos or videos available to people. We realized, though, that there were so many people out there, that if we wanted to connect with them and grow and preserve the community, we would have to figure something out.

America Online debuted something called a digital scrapbook...at least I think that is what it was called. You could upload photos and text to it and create a collection of information. We did this with the Eagles. I don't remember much about it, just that I believe it was our first foray into web publishing. We realized soon, though, that we would have to learn how to make a website so we purchased a book about how to write HTML and started to figure it out.
